Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information CLARITY Lab collects through this website and how we use it. It is written to follow Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (Article 8 notice items) and, for visitors in the United States, a conservative general-purpose approach to US privacy and email rules. It is not legal advice.
1. Who collects your information
CLARITY Lab (company registration in progress). Contact: hello@[domain to be decided].
2. Why we collect it
- To reply to your enquiry and assess what you need (contact form).
- To follow up, prepare a quote and deliver services.
- To improve the website and our services.
3. What we collect
We collect information only when you choose to fill in the contact form. It may include:
- Identity: your name and your company or business name.
- Contact: your email address, phone number or messaging account.
- Needs: your industry, a description of what you need, and a budget range.
4. How, where, for how long and with whom we use it
- Retention: from the moment you submit the form until [TBD] after our conversation ends. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as the contract and applicable law require.
- Location: Taiwan and the United States. We use cloud services for hosting and storage, so data may be held on servers outside Taiwan. We choose providers that apply reasonable security measures.
- Recipients: CLARITY Lab and service providers that process data on our behalf (for example hosting, database and notification services). We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it only where the law requires.
- Method: stored electronically and used only for the purposes above, with access limited to the people who need it.
5. Your rights
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold, or let you review it;
- provide a copy;
- add to or correct it;
- stop collecting, processing or using it;
- delete it.
Email us at the address above with enough detail for us to confirm who you are. We will respond within a reasonable time. Where the law requires us to keep a record, or another legal ground applies, we may not be able to do everything you ask, and we will explain why.
6. If you choose not to provide information
Filling in the contact form is your choice. If you leave out required details such as a way to reach you, we cannot reply. Browsing the site and using the interactive diagnosis requires no personal information at all.
7. The interactive diagnosis
The diagnosis runs entirely in your browser. Your answers and results are not sent to our servers and we do not collect them.
8. Cookies
The site currently sets one functional cookie, named "lang", to remember the language (Chinese or English) you chose by hand. It lasts one year, contains nothing that identifies you, and is not used for tracking or advertising. You can delete or block it in your browser at any time. The site still works without it; your browser's language setting will then decide which language you see.
9. Analytics
We do not currently use any analytics or advertising trackers. If that changes, we will update this policy first, name the tool and what it collects, and obtain consent where the law requires it.
10. For visitors in the United States
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
- This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
- You may ask us to access, correct or delete your information using the contact address above, whatever state you live in. We will respond within a reasonable time.
- Email: if we send you a commercial message, we will identify it as an advertisement, say who we are, include our physical postal address [address TBD], and give you a clear way to opt out. We will honour an opt-out within 10 business days and will not email you again, and we will not use misleading subject lines.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above.
